RV rental Pasagshak River State Recreation Site, AK: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

Most Pasagshak River State Recreation Site campers come for the fishing. Anglers can catch numerous species of salmon, including sockeye, chum, pink, and silver salmon. You’ll also find some beautiful Dolly Varden in the river too. You can fish from shore or kayak and will need a proper license to do so. You can get an Alaska fishing license in Kodiak if you missed it on the mainland. Wildlife viewers and photographers can be overwhelmed at Pasagshak River with the beautiful scenery and animals that either live on the island permanently or pass through in annual migrations. You’ll get up close with bears, bald eagles, and seals. When the time is right, you're sure to see spouts from whales passing by the island, which you can view from your campsite or lookouts accessed by hiking trails. The beach in Pasagshak Bay is perfect for beachcombing, where you can look for shells, sea glass, and driftwood. If you want to get above the water, there are numerous hikes accessible from the road to the bay. One of the most rewarding hikes is the moderate Pyramid Mountain hike, granting explorers expansive views of the wild landscape. Or, if you prefer to explore in the water, the protected bay is also great for kayaking.
