The Great Outdoors

Few states feel more remote, wilder, or more magical than scenic Alaska, and with your Kodiak camper rental, you will be able to explore the farthest reaches of the state even beyond the limits of Kodiak Island itself. Before you set your sights for the mainland, there are some stunning things to see on Kodiak Island like Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park in the northern section of town. There is a historical fort on-site named after famed explorer William R. Abercrombie, as well as a campground that is tricky to reach with your Kodiak camper rental, but possible all the same. There are hiking trails, picnic spots, and a historical museum in the small park too.

RV Parks

Finding a place to camp overnight on Kodiak Island can be tricky, but there are a few options available. Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park is one place worth looking into, with a rustic campground you can call your temporary home while you explore the forest by the sea.

City Sightseeing

Remote and small are not two particularly inspiring characteristics for a vacation destination, yet Kodiak and the island on which it sits seem to defy all expectations. This amazing port city has lots of fun things to do when you rent an RV on the island, like Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park. Aside from its precious natural beauty, the state park is home to Kodiak Alaska Military History Museum, housed in old bunkers and military installations used to defend the island against Japanese attacks during the Second World War. There are lots of neat relics of the past found in the museum, from old military weapons and equipment to uniforms and large vehicles which are used in annual parades through town.
