Hayes State Park is nestled in the Irish Hills along the banks of Wamplers Lake. The 78-acre state park features a large swimming area, hiking trails, a fishing pier, two boat ramps, interpretive programs, and a picnic shelter. Fishing is popular at the park, and frequent catches include muskie, smallmouth bass, sunfish, crappie, bluegill, and largemouth bass. If you prefer a little more action, guests to the park can rent kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, paddleboats, and floats. During the winter, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
With so much to see and experience, many people choose to camp at Hayes Campground. The campground features sites with full and partial hookups, fire pits, and picnic tables. For your convenience, there are modern restrooms with hot showers. Whether you're in town just for a night or several weeks, Hayes Campground is the perfect hub for your next vacation.
