Wildcat Mountain Campground

Wildcat Mountain Campground is perfect for anybody looking for a simple riverside campground in western Wisconsin. Just outside the small town of Ontario, this heavily wooded campground is ideal for escaping the city. While there's not too much to do around camp except a playground for kids to enjoy, the nearby Kickapoo River is excellent for watersports, including fishing, swimming, and boating. The RV campground also offers boat rentals in case you don't have your own. You can also bring your dog along to this pet-friendly Vernon County campground.

Camping at Wildcat Mountain is best suited to self-sufficient campers due to a lack of amenities. There are roughly 16 grass sites for use, which provide no hookups. All sites offer back-in access, and there are very few amenities around camp except a pit toilet.

During your trip with a motorhome rental near Ontario, you'll have access to some of the best sights in Wisconsin. State parks surround Wildcat Mountain Campground, and it's only an hour's drive from the Mississippi River if you want to experience one of the most significant rivers in the country. The nearest major city is La Crosse, which is just over an hour's drive away, and if you want to see more of Wisconsin, the state capital of Madison about two hours' drive away and contains some of the state's best attractions.
