Pippin Lake is popular with anglers and has been regularly stocked with fish since 1954. Fish species present in the lake include arctic grayling, coho salmon, steelhead, and rainbow trout. Being close to the Richardson Highway, access is relatively easy in your rental RV. Ice fishing is also popular here.

Camping at Pippin Lake

There are no camping facilities at Pippin Lake, but a couple of miles south along the Richardson Highway is Squirrel Creek Recreation Site that has a campground with 25 campsites. There is no limitation on the size of your rental RV at this campsite, but there are only basic restroom facilities. Freshwater is available here, and you can fish in the creek and a small lake at the recreational site.

Exploring the Area

While RV camping near Pippin Lake, it makes sense to keep your motorhome stocked up with gas and supplies. The town of Copper Center just a few miles north of the lake has a gas station and grocery store, plus some places to eat. A few miles further along the Richardson Highway is Glennallen, a much larger town with more facilities.
