Frequently asked questions
Q.
How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
There is no electric, water, or sewage hook-up because the van was built for dispersed camping or boondocking. We do not stay at formal campgrounds, however, if you choose to just be aware that vanny was not built with that goal in mind.
Q.
Do I need roadside assistance?
A.
Honestly, it is up to you. I am mechanically sound and built vanny myself, so with that being said, I do not require it. However, keep in mind that it is a 20-year-old vehicle and so hiccups are possible. Roadside assistance is a nice piece of mind.
Q.
Can I drive the van just like a normal vehicle?
A.
No. Vanny is 9 feet 3 inches tall, so no drive-throughs and keep an eye out for low branches. Also, he weighs close to 10,000 lbs so no sharp turns and braking takes some forethought.
