The site is located near to the Navasota River, which is a peaceful place to sit and walk when the weather is nice.

This small Texan town is to the north of the park and is big enough to support a diverse collection of restaurants, including BBQ, Mexican, American, buffets, fast food chains, and a few central Texas-specific options.
