Discover Central City RV rentals for memorable road trips

Known as the “Richest Square Mile on Earth”, Central City is a charming town on the precipice of the Denver metro area, cradled by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains to the west. It derives its nickname from the Pikes Peak Gold Rush of 1859 when 10,000 prospectors poured into the small area to make a living on the veins of gold that were constantly being discovered.

There is certainly no shortage of natural beauty in Colorado and when you rent an RV in Central City, you will not be able to escape the rich scenery. Golden Gate Canyon State Park is an exceptional state park enjoyed by Denver residents for hiking purposes. There are miles of nature trails where you can trek by foot, ride a mountain bike, or even go horseback riding through the groves of aspen trees. There are magnificent moose and black bears among other wildlife types at the park and breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains from high overlooks.

RV Parks to Visit

There are many campgrounds in Colorado, particularly in the mountains, so finding one for you and your Central City camper rental is not difficult in the slightest. Cold Springs Campground in the Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests is an option if you want to be close to nature. Pickle Gulch is another campground for you to use that is close to nature in the middle of the woods.

City Sightseeing

For such a little town, Central City has no problem finding reasons for people to visit, with a wealth of museums, casinos, and historical buildings to explore. The casinos in town are the primary draw and there are many buses to and from town carrying gamblers and people headed to the casinos to enjoy entertainment and high-class dining.

We had a lovely experience. Some minor hiccups at the start of the trip were handled by our hosts with care, and the van came with everything we needed as people flying in from out of town to have a fantastic time camping in Rocky Mountain National Park! Our driver reported the van being a lot easier to drive than he expected to, which was great for when we also took some time seeing the sights of Denver as well and it was pulling "Rental car" duty. With four adults in close relationships, it was perfect sleep-wise as well, but know the quarters are quite tight if you aren't as tight knit with who you're sharing the van with!

Fantastic host with a fantastic van! This is our second time renting with Maeve and we look forward to the next time. The experience from start to finish couldn't have been better.

Everything! The portable stoves, the gas heater for nights, the exhaust fan, the bike rack, the cozy mattress and sleeping areas, sitting up high driving along and feeling like a road warrior….one thing is for sure, we never want to tent camp again!
