The Great Outdoors

Eastern Connecticut is essentially one vast forest with a few villages sprinkled in, so indulging in the great outdoors is easy when you rent an RV near Circle C Campground. Sugarbrook State Park is a few miles away, with stunning hiking trails meandering through its wooded groves. Hunting is a popular pastime when the season calls for it, but this small park is hardly developed and mostly wild.Quinebaug Lake State Park over in Killingly is a marvelous place to spend a sunny day with the camper rental, with luxurious beaches surrounding the reservoir. The boat launch in the northern part of the park enables guests to put their private watercraft into the water, and the lake is a great place to catch catfish or bass. To the south, Hopeville Pond State Park provides many of the same activities and features to visitors. In addition to gorgeous hiking trails, serene forests, and a lovely pond, there are many other reasons to visit Hopeville Pond State Park. You can go hiking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, or camping with your motorhome rental at one of its campsites. A flurry of historic sites and old Native American ruins can also be found by park guests when touring the area.Yet another park can be found by Circle C Campground, so you won’t need to leave eastern Connecticut to enjoy the great outdoors. Old Furnace State Park is named for an old iron furnace that churned out products for the military during the Civil War. Gorgeous clifftop vantage points, nature trails, human-made ponds, and other amazing things can be seen when you venture over to this state park north of the Circle C Campground campsites.

City Sightseeing

There is hardly any urban sightseeing to be done in the area around Circle C Campground as it is a small countryside site in the forest lands of eastern Connecticut. Fortunately, a quick ride to Norwich in your RV rental can provide an array of attractions to explore. There are dining and shopping spots galore in this charming town, and an assortment of historical sites too. The Leffingwell House Museum showcases the old colonial-style architecture used hundreds of years ago when the first Europeans began to develop the area. This gorgeous red structure tells the story of Revolutionary War heroes and other parts of local history.The Slater Memorial Museum is a captivating institution that has been open to the public on the campus of the Norwich Free Academy for over 100 years. This gem of a museum was donated by the Slater Family and features artwork from Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe, among other places. Massive statues, elegant paintings, and other magnificent treasures make for a wonderful afternoon.Down by the coastline near Mystic, you can continue your adventure by seeing the Mystic Aquarium, one of the best aquariums in the country. The facility houses a menagerie of stunning sea creatures and other marine life, from jellyfish to marching penguins, and beluga whales too. Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
