RV rental Colmar, GES: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

In addition to exquisite architecture, the Alsace region also offers a broad range of outdoor activities. Just 18 miles from the center of Colmar is the Gazon du Faing, a hiking area that's part of the Vosges Mountains. Don't expect to find any cell phone reception or crowds of tourists at this hidden gem. What you will find, though, is a couple of trails catering to beginners and experienced hikers. If you're craving a challenge, you can ascend 4,000 feet above sea level to a viewpoint overlooking the lake and surrounding hills. But if you're a novice hiker searching for a relaxing walk in nature, take the 20-minute trail that leads to the mesmerizing Luc Blanc — an ideal spot to have a picnic with family and friends. If you like winter sports like skiing, you'll be thrilled to learn that Grand-Ballon, the highest summit in the Vosges Mountains, is just 30 miles from the city center. This 4,600-foot-high summit is the absolute favorite among skiers and experienced hikers. At the top, you'll be greeted by the Diables Blues monument and a breathtaking view. Not keen on climbing? Prefer to stay in the heart of the city? Parc du Champ de Mars is a great spot to take a break after a busy day of exploring. Colmar's largest municipal park features statues of some of its most celebrated residents, including architect Bartholdi and French Army General Jean Rapp. Spread out a picnic blanket, or grab a bite at the park's cafe. The kids are bound to love the playground.
