The multi-use paths are great for taking a leisurely stroll or biking. The park is located near the center of Antony and also houses a music conservatory.

Another great outdoor space is Parc Montsouris, or Montsouris Park. Walking trails wind through the dense tree cover, offering welcome respite from the busy city. Relax near the lake and enjoy the water or wander through the park looking at the many stone and bronze sculptures. In the fall, Montsouris Park is a fantastic place to visit when the leaves on the trees begin to turn color and splash the splendor of autumn throughout the entire park. The Montsouris Meteorological Observatory is also located in the park.

Exploring the City

While visiting Antony, the Memorial du Genocide Armenian, or the Armenian Genocide Memorial, is a must-see. The first Armenians were arrested on April 25, 1915, and this was the beginning of months of persecution. Over one million Armenians lost their lives in the genocide. A memorial sits in Sceaux Park and pays tribute to those directly affected by this horrific time. The memorial is a sculpture created by artist Toros. An eagle’s head with a man’s body that symbolizes the strength of the Armenian people sits atop a memorial stone with names of many of the victims.

After viewing the Armenian Genocide Memorial, take time to visit Château de Sceaux, or Sceaux Castle. The castle sits at the far end of Sceaux Park and houses the Musee de l’Ile-de-France. This museum focuses on the history of the Île-de-France region. When you've had your fill of history, tour the lavish, beautifully restored estate. Get a dose of fresh air in the colorful gardens designed by King Louis XIV's own gardener. The manor house itself sits on the site of the original home of Louis XIV's finance minister, which was later destroyed during the French Revolution. The opulent building you'll see today opened in the mid-19th century, though some of the structures from the original estate remain.

Make some time to visit the Ecomusée du Val de Bievre, also known as the Val de Bievre Ecomuseum. This museum is dedicated to the issues that surround the specific population of the southern suburbs of Paris. The museum focuses on urban planning, immigration, women's history, and more. Locally run, the museum is home to hundreds of objects and artifacts that tell the history of the local region. Artifacts date back several centuries and even include some contemporary collections.
