Discover Carters Lake RV rentals for memorable road trips

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, Carters Lake is in a beautiful, wild setting surrounded by forests and mountain peaks. The man-made lake was created in 1977 when the Carters Dam was constructed across the Coosawattee River. With over 62-miles of shoreline and covering 3,200 acres, Carters Lake was built for flood control, but now also provides great recreational opportunities.

Getting Outdoors

With such a large expanse of water, the fishing opportunities are very good, although shoreline fishing is restricted due to the steep nature of the banks. The rugged shore offers plenty of quiet places to take a boat and enjoy the solitude of fishing for bass, catfish, and walleye. Boat rentals are available locally, and there are also several chartering companies that will take you on guided fishing trips.

Camping at Carters Lake

On the southern shore of the lake is Doll Mountain Campground, with over 60 campsites, the majority of which have hookups for comfortable motorhome camping. Many of the sites are under the cover of trees, making a lovely shady location in the summer months. On-site, there are two restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, and a playground. Access to the lake is easy with a boat trailer park and a boat ramp on the campground.

The RV is the way to travel! Our family loved every second! The hosts were 1st class, very responsive and easy to get in touch with. We had no issues with the RV and will definitely book again in the future! Thanks so much for helping make this happen.

Communication with Nick was great! RV was as expected (the tv was busted-kids were sad about not getting a movie night in an RV but they were just fine). Got us to Colorado and back with no issues! Overall had a great trip in the RV!
