Discover Lithonia RV rentals for memorable road trips

Lithonia is a town in the Atlanta metropolitan area. From the Greek word lithos, the town means “city of stone." Lithonia is named after the granite industry that serves as the cornerstone of commerce in the town. In fact, Stone Mountain is made largely of a type of rock called Lithonia gneiss. In the past, the quarries and mines were served by the Atlanta, Stone Mountain, and Lithonia Railway and the Georgia Railroad.

The Great Outdoors

Lithonia is largely known for its granite; many outdoor attractions feature granite formations as well. Arabia Mountain is one example. Like Stone Mountain, Arabia Mountain is a monadnock that was formed as softer rock eroded. The process left behind only the erosion-resistant rocks such as granite. The Arabia Mountain park has hiking trails, a lake, and areas for visitors to relax. An RV rental from Lithonia will allow vacationers to move from one monadnock to the next.

RV Parks

Located between Stone Mountain and Atlanta, Lithonia has several RV parks to choose from. Stone Mountain Park could be a solid choice for someone visiting the mountain. The park has 50 amp electric, sewer, and water hookups. The park also offers big rig sites and pull-through sites. Someone looking for a pool or a lake should consider this site as well.

Exploring The City

Many visitors who rent an RV in central Georgia make sure to stop at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. The monastery is run by Trappist monks. It is open year-round to visitors. The monastery features a museum highlighting the history of Trappists and their influence in Georgia. Also, the monastery attempts to be self-sustaining. Thus, visitors can buy food and art made locally by the monks.

Loved this RV. Owners go over and beyond to make the rental an awesome experience. Perfect for a couple and dog with plenty of space to relax. Large fridge. Theater seats. Could accommodate additional sleeping if needed. Would not hesitate to rent again!

Rv was great. Would add a step for getting in and out of the vehicle on all doors. And upgrade AC system to be on the roof instead of in cabin
