Ranger, Georgia is located about 30 miles northwest of Canton. The community was founded in the late 1800s, and the origin of its name is up for debate; it was either derived from Confederate military rangers or based on the city of Ranger, North Carolina. Regardless of how its name came to be, this community sits right in the midst of urban Georgia without being too close to the heavily populated cities. Route 411 runs right through town, making it easy for tourists to get around the area.
