The Great Outdoors
Take some time during your adventure in Dresden to visit some of the area's beautiful parks. Schloss and Pillnitz Park sits on the banks of the River Elbe. Former royals used to stay at the castle during the summer months. The grounds have been meticulously restored back to their former glory and transformed into a public park. Exploring the City
While in Dresden, make time to visit Dresdner Residenzschloss, or the Royal Palace, also known simply as the Dresden Castle. Once home to the royalty of Saxony, this 15th-century castle suffered major damage during the bombings of WWII. It's since been beautifully restored and welcomes the public for tours. Highlights of your visit include precious jewels and pieces from the Dresden State Art Collections, the Royal Parade Rooms, and the Historical Green Vault, one of the only rooms to survive the bombings relatively intact.
