Is the freedom and beauty of #vanlife calling to you? Yeah...us too! Stanley is a 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that has been custom designed and built (by us!) so that we could adventure comfortably as a family of three! It has been meticulously and thoughtfully created for the type of family that doesn't want to stop traveling when a new baby is in the mix, but may need a few more amenities now, and wants to travel in style!Stanley is designed with water and electrical hook ups (no sewage hook ups), but is more-so designed for those that value being off-the-grid and enjoy dispersed camping/boondocking. This includes solar panels, an efficient 12v fridge/freezer, no propane that needs to be refilled, and a toilet that can be dumped in any bathroom or outhouse.**Note** Stanley is currently under construction and is being rented in its current state.** Details listed below are already completed and usable.Follow Along!
We document our build and our family adventures in Stanley on Instagram @stanleythefamilyvanly
Sleeping
One Short Queen Bed (4 inches shorter than a standard queen)
One Crib-Sized Mattress (on the floor, with crib bars available upon request)
For additional travelers or older kids...we recommend bringing an additional tent
Water
25 Gallon Fresh Water Tank
Hot Water Heater
Interior Toilet (Hidden!!)
Thetford Porta Potty (includes flushing, and can be dumped into any regular toilet)
The bathroom is hidden under the counter on the driver's side. The counter flips up and is on very strong hinges. Not the most private bathroom experience, but worth it to us to keep an open concept layout.
Exterior Shower
There is an exterior shower hose which is great for rinsing off dirty feet
**Note** Please follow "Leave NO Trace" principals and don't use soap/shampoo
Kitchen
Two Burner Induction Stove
Dometic 12v Fridge and Freezer Combo
Sink
Faucet
Soap Dispenser filled with biodegradable dish soap
Massive Counter Space

RecommendationsLet us know where you're headed and we can give you some ideas! We've explored tons of the Kings Canyon National Park, Sequoia National Park, and Jenny Lakes Wilderness areas and love to give ideas.Dispersed camping isn't allowed within the National Parks, but is within the National Forest! Pay close attention to changing boundary lines. We think the best spots for dispersed camping are in the Big Meadows area near the Jenny Lakes Wilderness. There are also spots along Ten Mile Road and the Hume Road.Other things to note***Stanley is CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION and is renting in its current state.***Please read all our details carefully to understand what is and isn't available at this time. Meet your host, Jocey

Hello there!! My name is Jocey, and along with my husband Nathan and our daughter, Scout, we built our very own camper van, that we are super excited to share with you! We decided to build our own RV after shopping around and realizing nothing really had every feature we wanted as a new family of three, and none felt like they looked like our style...hello swoopy stripes on every RV. Lol. We wanted unique and stylish. So we did it ourselves! We love to travel and we actually met on a bus ride in South Africa. Ask us about it sometime! Our most favorite trip was to Iceland where we saw the northern lights. Renting a camper van in Norway while we were pregnant with our daughter is what got us dreaming about doing a van of our own someday, so during the pandemic we made it happen! We are avid hikers, backpackers, camp-loving folks with a passion for enjoying the outdoors and helping others do the same. We summited Mt. Whitney in 2018 and are currently preparing for a hike on the JMT (John Muir Trail) this summer. We have worked for a non-profit camp at Hume Lake for the last 16+ years and love working at a place that is impacting people's lives for eternity.
