The city's main beach, this popular stretch of blinding white sand runs for five miles and is found a short drive southeast of the city center. Found in the highest part of the city, the centerpiece of this historic area is Bastione San Remy. This imposing structure is probably the city's most iconic sight and has played an important part in the defense of Cagliari since its construction in the 19th century. It's a bit of a climb to get there, but the effort is worth it just for the wonderful views of the city.
