This is the weekender version which has back seat that folds down to a large queen size bed and it has a more open feeling compared to the full campers like the VW Vanagon Westfalia. It's easy to drive, looks like a local car, and has all of the nostalgic Westfalia camping experiences with the pop-top that has a small full sized bed, a fold out kitchen table, and a swiveling front seats.We have taken the stock Mercedes pop-top and have added the following:
- 3" memory foam mattress topper for lower bed
- Roof racks to carry surfboards, kayaks, SUP's
- Swivel seat base to the driver and passenger front seat
- 8' x 8' retractable Thule awning
- 50 quart chest style electric refrigerator.
- Fire extinguisher
- Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detector
- Pressurized 7 gallon outdoor solar heated shower
- Stereo with CarPlay and Android Auto
- Tinted the windows for cooler vehicle and great privacy
- 12V and 120V AC electrical system including:
- 200AH Lithium Iron Phosphate house battery
- 2000W pure sine wave inverter
- 12V Vent fan to extract warmer air from inside the van
- Small 12V fan to keep you cool when you sleep at night
- 8 high power USB outlets throughout the vanThese electrical upgrades will allow you to charge your phones, tablets, computers all night long as well as providing lighting and air circulation in the van for some comfortable sleeping at night. This is a huge thing. Sleeping in a van with no moving air gets very stagnant and makes for a bad night sleep. The 2000w inverter provides enough power to power a blender, blow drier, or any appliance you can throw at it and it produces a pure sine wave which will not damage sensitive electronics.Arriving:
Our standard check-in time is 3:00PM. If available, you may be able to checkin sooner for an additional fee of $10/hr should you want your campervan earlier than 3:00PM. Let us know if you would like early check-in and we will try and accommodate you but it is not guaranteed. Once you arrive at the Honolulu Airport (HNL), you can grab a cab or rideshare right next to baggage claim and take it to our facility which is around 15 miles (~20 min & ~ $30) away from the terminal. Once you arrive at our facility, we will go over the campervan with you and teach you how to use it as well as noting any previous damage prior to you taking off. We'll then sign some paperwork and you're off. This process will take around 20 minutes or so.Once you are finished with your trip, we will meet you back in the same parking lot and check you back in.Camping:
Camping on Oahu does require you to have a campsite for each night as there is no free camping. 5We had a fantastic time with Pipeline! We traveled with our 20 month old and had a blast exploring the North Shore and staying at Malaekhana Dtate Recreation Park and Camp Mokule’ia! The van was fully equipped and was the perfect fit for our little family. We rented the car seat and it made things so easy. Sean and Beth-Ann are super communicative and made our trip one for the books!
