Perfect for an adventure for two people in Ohio and the neighboring states, Compass Rose is a beautiful classic camper van elegantly designed and handcrafted by Pleasure-Way. This 2008 Excel TS has everything you need for your trip. It is equipped with a complete wet bath with a standup/sit down shower, vanity with stainless steel sink, and medicine cabinet. The kitchen area has everything to make you feel at home - a stainless steel sink, two burner stove, refrigerator, counter with a flip-up extension, and a microwave. The kitchen is fully supplied with dishes, pans, utensils, glasses and flatware and more. At your request, we will also include our pod coffee maker, campfire pie irons and cookbook and/or our picnic basket backpack. The back of the van features the lounge area flanked with two ottomans and sofa. Set up the rectangular dining table or round cocktail size table in this area for dinner or drinks. Whisk away the table and lower the sofa with the touch of a button to create the sleeping area that can be configured as two single beds (74"x29" and 72x29"), or one king bed (73"x81"). Store your supplies and gear in the many storage compartments and large closet. Compass Rose drives like a dream and at 20 feet four inches can be parked in most standard sized pull-in parking spots. Although she is great for an adventure for two, Rose would also be happy to be your companion on a solo adventure. Compass Rose is for travel only May 1 through October 31 in Ohio and neighboring states. No festivals or tailgating are allowed. When traveling, drive only on paved roads. Driving on a well-kept gravel campground road inside a licensed RV park or campground is acceptable.
3 night minimum, 5 night maximum is our usual rule, but we may be able accommodate other needs. Just contact us to see if we can individualize your trip.Campground Reservations
Make sure you plan your trip and check campsite availability before booking. All campground reservations must be made separately from your booking with us. Campgrounds are currently very busy so it is best to plan ahead and contact them to make sure you get your spot! Keep in mind that not all campgrounds have WiFi. Check with the campground to see if they offer this service if this is something that you need.Send Off and Orientation
We want you to have the best experience possible with Compass Rose! To help ensure things will go smoothly, you will be given a complete orientation to Compass Rose and how to operate and drive her. This will take up to 90 minutes. Please include this time in your travel plans. Pickup time is negotiable. Contact us to work it out.
You will receive a Guest Handbook with reminders and information on how to drive, use, and safely operate Rose. Please read all information and follow all directions given in the orientation, in the Guest Handbook, Pleasure-Way handbook, and Ford E350 handbook, all included with the van. Renters will be responsible to pay for any damage due to renters’ failure to correctly operate the systems, features, and appliances in the RV and Ford E350 chassis.
We have a free, well-lit, paved parking space for you to leave one vehicle if you need it. You park with us at your own risk. We do not guarantee the safety of your vehicle.Conveniences in the Van
We will check everything in the van before your trip to make sure Rose is ship shape. Unforeseen circumstances may occur, and something in the camper may stop working. We will do everything we can to help you if something breaks down. We do not give refunds if something stops working in the van.
You are renting the van “as is” with any faults and without reservation.
Rose is equipped with a full service wet bath. This means that you pull the shower curtain and cover the window, and the bathroom itself becomes the shower. Note: The shower set-up is not spacious like your shower at home. Some people prefer to use the campground’s shower and facilities because they like to have more room to move around.
Rose is equipped with many of the items you will need for your trip. We will send you a complete inventory in advance of your trip.Cancellation Policy and Booking Charges
Please review Outdoorsy’s description of the “moderate cancellation policy.” The only way to get a full refund for your booking and all service fees is to cancel within 48 hours of booking with more than 14 days left before departure date. Insurance charges are always fully refundable with any cancellation.

25% of your booking fee will be charged when you book your trip, unless you book with 14 or fewer days left until departure. In that case, you will be charged for the full amount at booking.Pet Policy
Pet pre-approval required. 1-2 small dogs are allowed. Dogs only, no other types of pets. Please contact us to discuss your dog(s) so we can determine if Compass Rose will be a good fit for your furry friend(s). Knowing the size, breed and age of your dog(s) will help us determine that.
Pets must never be left alone in the RV. The RV is considered a vehicle, and it is illegal in most states to leave a pet unattended in a vehicle. Your pet may have anxiety if left alone in this new place and may suffer or cause damage to the van.
There is no extra cost per day for your dogs. If your pet damages the van or if there are pet stains or bad smells, the cost will be deducted from your deposit. If the deposit is insufficient to cover the damage, you will be responsible for the remainder, and the costs will be billed to your credit card on file.
Upholstery must stay protected with the supplied covers and/or with your bedding to protect the surface from damage by your pets.
The owner is not responsible for the safety of renters’ pets. Renters must take all precautions to make sure their dogs travel safely and stay safe while in Compass Rose.Insurance, Accidents, and Incidents
Renter’s insurance through Outdoorsy is required. This will be an additional cost per day at check out. Insurance packages start at approximately $40 a day (information current as of 1/15/22) and go up from there depending on the deductible you choose.
Renters are responsible for paying deductibles if damage occurs, as specified by the Outdoorsy insurance policy and as otherwise noted in the Terms and Conditions and Rental Agreement.
Outdoorsy also offers an add-on policy to cover damages to the interior of the van. We recommend that you purchase it.
In case of incidents involving theft, vandalism, or accidents, a police report must be filed, and a copy presented to the owner. Report all incidents and accidents to the owner immediately.
When you leave the van, take both sets of keys, close the windows, and lock the doors. If you fail to do this, insurance may not cover the loss of the van if it is stolen or vandalized, and you will be responsible for the loss and/or damage.
If there is a mechanical failure or problem requiring roadside assistance, the renters should call the roadside assistance number provided by the insurer and alert the owner immediately. RENTERS SHALL NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE REPAIRS. ANY REPAIRS MUST HAVE PRIOR AUTHORIZATION BY THE OWNER.
Avoid accidental lock-outs by using the buttons on the key fob after you exit the van to lock and unlock the doors. Two sets of keys are provided.More Renters’ Responsibilities
Renters must obey all laws – state, local, county, and federal. Renters are responsible for knowing the laws wherever they are traveling.
Renters will not store, transport, or use any illegal substance. If there is evidence of this, law enforcement will be informed.
Renters are responsible for any tickets, tolls, or other charges incurred on the road even if notice of these charges arrive after the security deposit is released. These charges will be deducted from the security deposit or charged to your credit card if there are insufficient funds left from your deposit or if charges come in after the deposit has been returned.
Outdoorsy requires checking fluids at each refueling. Check tires and pressure at each refueling. A tire gauge is provided for your convenience, or you could stop in at a local tire store to have the pressures checked. Front tires should be at 55 PSI AND REAR TIRES AT 80 PSI FOR YOUR SAFETY.
The Ford E350 handbook is in the storage bin in the cabin if you need a refresher on checking fluids or need information on the chassis. When you open the hood and/or check fluids, be extremely careful lifting, opening, and closing the hood of the van. The hood is very heavy and does not stay up on its own. It must be propped up with the arm. Be careful and keep your hands safely away from the hood as it comes down.
The van is equipped with Air Ride Pressure bags that must be inflated to 50 PSI when traveling. The inflation mechanism is in the cabinet above the cabin of the van.
Renters are responsible for any damage that occurs to the RV during the rental period.
Renters are responsible for the safety of themselves, their guests, and their personal property.Danger
Clearance: You cannot take Rose into parking garages or through drive-throughs. Be aware of any height or width restrictions (bridges, overpasses, toll booths, tunnels etc.) along your travel path. Rose is 9 feet high but will need at least 10 feet of overhead clearance for minimum safety. There are RV apps that can help you find the information you need for safe travel. Do not drive under low hanging branches or other obstructions. The dimensions and clearance requirements of the van are posted on the windshield.
No ferries: Do not take Compass Rose on ferries.
No LP Gas, Gasoline or Flammable Liquids: Do not transport liquid propane or gasoline in the van. Do not transport gas grills, stoves, etc. There is a danger of explosion. Do not transport flammable liquids.
Always use the overhead vent fan when using the propane cook top. Never use the vent fan when you are running the generator.
Do not tow or push anything with the RV.
Do not climb onto the roof of the RV. It is very dangerous to do so. You will forfeit your security deposit if there is any sign of anyone walking one the roof of the RV.No Smoking or Vaping
No smoking or vaping in the van. If the van is returned smelling of any smoking or vaping materials, renters’ entire security deposit will be held until the van is professionally cleaned. Whatever the cleaning specialist charges, PLUS a service fee of $100, will be assessed out of the security deposit, and any remaining balance will be refunded to the renters as long as there are no other overages or damages. If the cleaning costs more than your deposit, we will bill your credit card on file.Fees and Charges

Outdoorsy Service Fees - Outdoorsy charges a daily service fee of 5%, 10%, or 15% depending on the length of your trip. Please check with Outdoorsy for the amount of
your service fee or see that amount when you check out.
6.75% Fairfield County, Ohio Sales Tax will be added to your order.
One time preparation and disinfecting fee - $50.Possible Return Fees
Mileage: 100 miles per day free (.35 per mile after that). The equivalent of 100 miles per day can be spread out over the trip.
Generator Use - 4 hours a day free ($3.00 per hour after that).
A cleaning fee of $100 will apply if van is not returned in same condition as it was when picked up. Follow our posted list of cleaning directions to give her a quick
spruce up. If Rose looks and smells clean, no cleaning fee will be charged! ( :Additional Return Charges May Apply for the Tanks:
Coach Gas Tank Refill – If the tank is not full, $25.00 service fee, plus charge per gallon (receipt will be provided).
Propane Tank Refill – If the tank is not at 80%, $25.00 service fee, plus charge per gallon (receipt will be provided). Note: The propane tank cannot be filled above 80% and
must be filled by a certified dealer.
Dumping Grey and Black Tanks – If the tanks are not empty, $25.00 service feeOther Charges May Apply
$25.00 fee for each key set replacement.
Minimum $1000.00 fee for stranding the camper instead of returning it home (the address shown when you book).
Up to $300.00 extraordinary cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit if camper is excessively dirty or has bad smells that do not dissipate.
A charge for items missing from the inventory at the end of your trip will be deducted from your security deposit. Items will be valued and replaced with equivalent item
from Amazon or other appropriate marketplace. Receipt or screenshot of order will be provided and will include sales tax.Returning Compass Rose and Late Fees
Compass Rose must return home by 7 PM. We will be contacting you the day before Rose is scheduled for drop off to arrange your drop off time. Outdoorsy charges a $30 administrative fee for late returns plus an hourly fee that is prorated based on the nightly charge. If the late return disrupts another rental, the renter will pay the full daily rate for every eight hours the RV is late, plus a $100 Outdoorsy administrative fee.
