The Great Outdoors

While camping at Beagle Bay RV Haven and Campground, you'll be near some beautiful nature parks worth visiting. Stockton State Park is located on a peninsula along Stockton Lake and is one of the most popular destinations in the region for watersports, thanks to the lake's calm, clear waters. As a result, scuba diving, sailing, and swimming are all favorite activities. Stockton Lake is also well-known for being a great fishing spot, and catches in the lake include bluegill, catfish, and bass. As well as being the ideal spot for watersports, Stockton State Park is also full of history. Hikers can explore the nearby woodlands and uncover a number of Native American burial grounds, as well as the remains of old villages.Another state park worth visiting during your campervan rental vacation near Sarcoxie is Prairie State Park. As the name suggests, this state park consists mainly of prairies and is one of the last remaining large areas of tallgrass prairie in Missouri. Hikers will love this park, and several trails lead by the park's vibrant wildlife, including fields of wildflowers with over 500 different species on display. As well as this abundance of flora, nature watchers should keep an eye out for the various animals living in the park, with over 150 species of birds spotted nearby. If you're lucky, you may even spot Praire State Park's resident bison herd.Roaring River State Park is also a well-regarded state park, especially with anglers. This hilly state park consists of a valley with a river, surrounded by dense woodlands. This park is one of only three state parks in Missouri to be stocked with rainbow trout, drawing anglers from far and wide to catch this rare fish. If you're looking for some exercise, seven hiking trails offer challenging hikes along the rocky valley. While enjoying your hike, keep an eye out for some of the 300 different bird species spotted in the park, such as great blue herons, red-tailed hawks, and bald eagles. If you're looking to relax, you can take a dip in the on-site swimming pool, or enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many picnic shelters.

Exploring the City

When you rent a motorhome near Sarcoxie, you'll find some great cities to explore. Springfield contains some of the best attractions in southwest Missouri and is a must-visit during your stay. Missouri is well-known for its extensive cave systems, and Springfield offers a unique experience in the Fantastic Caverns. This cave tour is unique as it is operated on a tram-system, letting you sit back and enjoy the sublime caves without having to hike for miles. This 55-minute tour will lead you through vast caverns full of beautiful mineral formations, giant columns, and much more. The caves are perfect for a hot summer's day, as the temperature inside the caves stays at a cool 60 degrees Fahrenheit.Another popular attraction in Springfield is the Dickerson Park Zoo. This zoo is perfect for a family day out and contains over 150 species of animals from across the world. Lots of critters are on display here, including ring-tailed lemurs, tigers, and cheetahs. The zoo also features animal encounters where you can get up close to your favorite animals and a playground where kids can blow off some steam.Alternatively, you might want to travel west with your Sarcoxie RV rental and experience some of the historical sights of Joplin. The city has some great historical attractions, and one of the most popular is the George Washington Carver National Monument. This famous inventor lived in Joplin, and visitors can explore the site of his old home, and learn about this great man's life through a series of artifacts and educational films. The park also contains a Civil War graveyard, where most of Carter's relatives were laid to rest.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
