Sarcoxie is a city in the southwestern corner of Missouri, close to borders with Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. It is located less than an hour's drive from Springfield. Tulsa is about two hours' drive to the southwest, and Kansas City is about two and a half hours' drive north. Sarcoxie was founded in the 1830s, and it was named Centerville, because of the nearby Center Creek. The name was changed to Sarcoxie in 1839 after a chief of the Delaware Indians whose settlement was located within the city limits. Here you will see Grandpa Weber's Blacksmith Shop, the Feed and Seed Store, the Old Phillip's 66 Station, and the General Store, which was run by Lowell's father and was where Lowell learned to sculpt and paint.

JR’s Appliance Museum is famous as the world’s largest small electrical appliance museum, and it is located about 20 minutes' drive from Sarcoxie. Here you will find an incredible collection of small electrical appliances, like toasters, razors, waffle irons, percolators, and more. They have over 4,000 rare collectible items displayed in the permanent exhibit.

The Joplin History & Mineral Museum hosts exhibitions that tell the story of Joplin and its mining history. It is located about half an hour's drive west in the city of Joplin, and it houses two different collections. One is the collection of minerals, and the other is historical. The museum is interactive, and it was founded by locals passionate to preserve the city’s history.
