Miles City is an interesting small city on Interstate 94 in eastern Montana, between the cities of Billings and Bismarck, North Dakota. The city has been around since the 19th century, originally just a cluster of cabins in a fort settlement on the Yellowstone River. The town is named for General Nelson A. Miles, the commander of the original fort, who engaged in frequent clashes with the native people of Montana.
