Bring your furry baby who can make new friends and sniff at everything in sight while you go on a serene stroll or a brisk walk, or just sit down and throw the occasional stick to keep Fido happy. Of course, there are parks great for recreation without dogs for people renting an RV in North Platte as well.Take Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park, an excellent example of how heritage, history, and culture can be combined with some outdoor fun. With acres of green grass and well-kept paths, this place is perfect for a walk - especially if you’d like to see where Buffalo Bill once chose to keep his hat. There are more buildings scattered around the area, like the old barn that used to house horses but now contains antique carriages and lots of memorabilia from the days of his Wild West shows. Just don’t forget to get some of that sweet exercise when you’re here.If you’re longing for some open fields, trees, and peace and quiet, Nebraska National Forest isn’t far from your North Platte camper rental. Despite the name, you’ll mostly find grassland here - and who doesn’t want to find themselves in the middle of a green ocean every now and then. There are still trees around, and you can see smaller versions at the tree nursery. You can also go hiking, fishing, and bird watching, so don’t forget your walking boots in the RV rental.

Exploring the Area

You’ve already seen a bit of what North Platte has to offer in terms of heritage, but it can’t hurt to check out the Railway Museum and Lincoln County History Museum as well. If you’re at all into trains (or majestic views), Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center needs to be your next destination. Here you’ll have a fantastic view of one of the largest railyards not only in the country but in the whole world. There are also events if you don’t want to marvel at the gigantic hub of transport for too long.If it’s events that you’re after when getting an RV rental near I-80 Lakeside Campground, then you’ve definitely hit the jackpot - especially if you’d like your festivities cowboy-themed. There are several rodeos, from the Buffalo Bill one to rodeos for juniors - who can also attend the Kids Fun Fest. Sign up for the Golf Scramble, see the Antique Car Parade, or show off your skills in the kitchen at the Cake Bake. Have a victory or consolation meal at one of the food places serving Mexican or American cuisine, as well as pizza, ice cream, and doughnuts. The only problem is that you’ll want to come back to North Platte time and time again.
