The Great Outdoors

You’ll have to cross a state line, but it’s definitely worth the trip to Colorado because no Lincoln County camping trip is complete without a visit to the fantastically beautiful Pawnee National Grassland. The grass that stretches out as far as you can see is perfect for hiking, camping, and horseback riding, and it’s also home to many, many different kinds of birds - a bird watcher’s paradise. You might also spot foxes, prairie dogs, pronghorns, and a coyote or two while exploring the area where frontier families once traveled and settled down to build a new, better life for themselves. They didn’t succeed, but the traces are still there.Next up is Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area, so pack your RV rental full of swimsuits, snacks, and sunscreen and prepare for a whole day of fun. Lake McConaughey has bright white sand beaches where you can swim, build castles in the sand, or just relax by the water. Go fishing, water skiing, and scuba diving, or you can stay on dry land and try to spot even more birds to cross off your list. For the hungry, there’s fish that you can try to catch and have for dinner, but if luck is not on your side, they might have something to snack on at the visitor center - just don’t drop it when you’re in the aquarium. Now the time has come to spend some time in one of the Nebraska National Forests - forests that are actually more grass than trees. Despite this, there are tree nurseries that you can visit. You see, a lot of the Nebraska forest is actually planted by hand. This doesn’t mean that you can’t go hiking or biking, of course, and it doesn't affect the quality of the fishing you can do in the bodies of water. Wander around trying to find rocks and minerals, or rent an RV near Holiday RV Park & Campground in the winter for some skiing and snowshoeing.

Exploring the Area

No need to drive far to get to experience and explore the area when you get an RV rental in North Platte, not when the city itself has so much to offer. If you want to know more about it and its surroundings, a visit to the Lincoln County History Museum would be in order, where old photos, tools, and other artifacts from the days of the pioneers are on display, among other things.Visit more historical sites, embrace the Wild West heritage by going to watch some cowboy shows, and go shopping for antiques and souvenirs before enjoying some food at one of the local wineries and breweries - it’s definitely okay to skip the shopping and go straight to the beer and wine- and enjoy art both at galleries and the theater. Don’t forget to check out the Cody Park Railway Museum and send a thought to the workers who laid tracks on the prairie, making it possible for America to be the country that it is today. So, what are you waiting for? Go book an RV rental in Nebraska right away, or you’ll miss out on all the fun.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
