There are some gorgeous seaside state parks worth visiting with your campervan rental near Cape May. Campers will no doubt want to explore some more of the peninsula, and the best way to do this is by visiting Cape May Point State Park. The state park is located at the tip of the peninsula and features woodlands, beaches, and marshes overlooking Delaware Bay. The park has several short hiking trails that lead past the Cape May Lighthouse, a 157-foot-tall operational lighthouse which the public can scale, boasting sublime views of the bay and peninsula. Down by the water, fishing is a favorite pastime, and anglers can expect to catch tautog, striped bass, and flounder in the bay. Other popular activities include birdwatching and picnicking.Another state park just up the coast is Corson's Inlet State Park. This park is excellent for a peaceful day out, as it contains one of the last untouched seaside dune systems in New Jersey. Fort Mott State Park is historic as it features the remnants of Fort Mott, a coastal defense fort built in the late 1800s. Visitors can explore the remains of the fort and read information panels that explain the fort's history. Behind the fort is the Delaware River, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely riverside stroll, or take advantage of the many picnic tables and grab a bite to eat.

Exploring the City

There are some excellent attractions worth visiting while renting an RV near Cape May, including the Cape May County Park and Zoo. This mid-sized zoo is perfect for a quick day out with the family and features over 250 species of animals, both local and exotic. Some of the highlights from the zoo include African lions, cheetahs, and red pandas.
