In the summer months, when the weather is warm, folks can get full use of the 1360-foot swimming beach when motorhome camping at Dillon State Park. Popular with groups of family and friends, the beach offers an area for both play and relaxation away from the busy day to day life. The beach is located near the park office and therefore so near a number of facilities such as lockers, a snack bar, bathhouse, showers and a smaller pool which is ideal for young children.
Camping at Dillon State Park
Those looking to camp are able to camp directly in the state park RV campgrounds, which offers 173 large sites, many of which are shaded. The majority of the campsites are electric only. However, there are a few that offer full hookups if this is what you are looking for. Camping is available year-round and consists of paved roads and concrete pads. Showers, restrooms, and drinking water are available on-site, as is a playground and WiFi for paid camping guests.

The city of Columbus is easily drivable from Dillon State Park, making it a good option for a day trip for those craving a little urban life. There are plenty of attractions to keep Columbus campers of all ages and interests occupied, as well as a large number of shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars. One of the most well-known family-friendly attraction is the Columbus Zoo. Get up close to some of the most incredible creatures from all over the globe, all the while learning a little more about them.
