The park covers 1046 acres and is easily accessible from the nearby towns of Caldwell, Cumberland, and Byesville, as well as further afield. There are plenty of camping adventures to be had at Wolf Run State Park with friends and family, as the park offers a quiet retreat in this remote area of the state.

For those that just want to relax and make use of the warm Ohio summers, there is a lovely 200-foot public swimming beach to enjoy. Sunbath on the beach before cooling down in the refreshing waters. Scuba diving is also permitted in the lake as long as it is not in the swimming area, so you'll able to find out what lies beneath the water's depths, although diving alone is prohibited.
One of the best ways to explore the park when camping at Wolf Run State Park is to take one of the hiking trails through the woodland. The 1.5-mile Lake View trial does as the name suggests, taking you around the lake with lots of picturesque viewpoints to enjoy along the way, providing a nice way to get from the campground to the beach. From the nature center, visitors can take the short nature trail, with a high likelihood of seeing a variety of wildlife. For those that are looking for a longer walk, a 3.5-mile section of the Buckeye Trail passes through the park.
For those that want to make the most of being in the great outdoors and go RV camping at Wolf Run State Park, there are 71 electric sites and 67 non-electric sites, so you'll be spoiled for choice. There is a walk-in group area for group camping that can be reserved in advance. For those that prefer a more primitive camping experience, there are also 20 primitive camping sites located on the north area of the lake.
