Nestled in between major cities, this 32,000-acre spread of land features waterfalls and diverse terrain. Hike over 125 miles of trails around farmlands, past rolling hills, and through the verdant forests, or hit the river in a canoe. Hop on a scenic train ride to experience the park from a different perspective. The Boston Mill Visitor Center is housed in a general store dating back to 1905. The center provides info on the notable parts of the park.

For more rugged wilderness, head to Allegheny National Forest near Sheffield Township, Pennsylvania. This massive forest covers over 500,000 acres of land. There are numerous settings to explore, including woods, farmland, wetlands, and mountains. Hit the trails on foot, a bike, or on horseback, or roar down the off-roading trails in an ATV. Hunting, wildlife watching, and camping are popular pastimes here. During the snowy winter season, visitors can go ice fishing, snowmobiling, and skiing.
