The small city of Mauldin is located in Greenville County in the state of South Carolina almost midway between Charlotte and Atlanta. It gained its name from William Mauldin who was the state Governor in 1886 and had influenced railroad builders to take the route through the town rather than by-pass it.

The Great Outdoors
On the western edge of the city, you’ll find Lake Conestee Nature Park. With twelve miles of trails passing through woodland, meadow and wetlands, it’s a great area for photography and hiking. Several wildlife observation decks have been built to get the perfect viewing spot and hopefully catch a glimpse of deer, beaver, fox or other wildlife in the park.
RV Parks
Taking your RV rental from Mauldin to Paris Mountain State Park is a great idea, as along with all its facilities there is also a campsite. There are only 26 RV sites, all with water and electricity hook-up and RV’s of up to 40 feet can be accommodated on some sites. There are restrooms close by with hot showers and a dump station for your trash. Pets are allowed on the campsite and most other areas of the park.
Exploring the City
Every year since 2000, Mauldin has held an Annual Sooie, BBQ Cook-off in September. The festival is basically a competition to find the best BBQ chef in the area and visitors get to taste the great food and cast a vote! Plus music to keep you entertained and a kid’s zone for the little ones! A great family day for all.
