San Lorenzo Beach is one of the most popular and largest beaches in the region and stretches for over three miles along the coast. The El Muro promenade runs adjacent to the beach and is perfect for a stroll in the sunshine. San Lorenzo Beach is ideal for watersports and is a hot spot for swimming, surfing, and kayaking. If you feel like relaxing, bring a picnic and enjoy a snack on the beach, or challenge your fellow campers to a game of beach volleyball.

Camping in Gijón

There are many Gijón RV campgrounds to choose from, and if you're looking for one close to the city center, consider Camping Deva Gijón. Located just outside the city, this large campground features over 300 sites that come with electrical and water hookups. There's plenty to do around camp, with a private swimming pool to cool off in and a playground where kids can make new friends. There are also plenty of useful facilities around camp, including a grocery store where you can grab some supplies, as well as bathrooms, showers, and much more.

Exploring the City

As mentioned, there are some beautiful old buildings scattered across Gijón, and one well worth visiting is the Revillagigedo Palace. This Baroque-style castle was constructed in the 1700s and now serves as home to many art and history exhibits. Visitors can wander around the palace and soak up some of the stunning contemporary artwork on display, admire the ornate architecture, and then enjoy a cup of coffee at the on-site cafe.
