Hiking is also popular here, and the trails found inside the park range from easy to moderate in difficulty. There are many different trails to explore, including the River Bluff Trail, the Limestone Creek Trail, the Birthplace Trail, and the Meadow View Trail. Wandering these trails will help you to get an idea of what life may have been like for Davy Crockett as a child, playing along the stream bank and adventuring in the forests.

Other activities include swimming in the David Crockett Birthplace State Park swimming pool, paddling and boating along the Nolichucky River, and fishing where it is permitted. Swimming in the pool is dependent on pool hours, while boating and fishing in the river are available at your leisure. The most common types of fish found in the river include smallmouth bass and catfish, and fishing requires an up-to-date fishing license.
