All of the short stay campsites are full hook-up with water, electricity, and WiFi. The campground can cater for rigs up to 60-feet long, and if you are new to camping with an RV, over half of the sites are pull-thru, making access a doddle.There are plenty of amenities at this campground to keep you entertained, including a heated swimming pool with a hot tub, games such as horseshoes and shuffleboard, and a billiard room. The Great Outdoors

The beautiful Gulf Coast is just a short drive away in your rental RV, and all along the coast, you'll find interesting places to visit.Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge is an essential habitat for thousands of birds and mammals. Not only can you see up to 250,000 ducks here during the migration period, but also hundreds of species of other birds.The refuge has also become one of only two areas in the United States with wild ocelots. An active breeding and protection program is in place to attempt to increase numbers. Within the park are miles of well-marked hiking routes, perfect for exploring the habitat safely. If you are lucky, you may be able to spot one of the elusive ocelots during your visit, but if not, there's still plenty to see. There are thousands of birds and butterflies, plus white-tailed deer, coyote, bobcat, and foxes. If you happen to visit during migration periods, you may be able to spot peregrine falcons or aplomado falcons.Keen mountain bikers will love the Mission Hike and Bike Trail Center, just on the edge of the city. One of the trails links the town to the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, covering around 6 miles of various terrain. Within the park is a mix of trails for all experience levels, purpose-built with jumps and obstacles to give you a challenge.While in the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, you can see plenty of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and hundreds of species of birds. This area of Texas is also famous for its butterflies, and during the migration periods, you can see thousands.

Exploring the Area

You don't need to go far for your daily groceries as El Valle Del Sol Resort MHP is situated in the heart of the town of Mission. You'll find a good choice of restaurant and bars within easy walking distance while RV camping here.Just a few blocks away to the north is Bannworth Park, an 18-acre community park with a playground, pond and fishing pier, picnic areas, restrooms, and sports facilities. It's a relaxing spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy a little bit of the outdoors.Also worth a visit in the town is the Mission Historical Museum. The buildings themselves are impressive, dating from the late 1930s, and inside, you'll find a massive collection of artifacts and memorabilia relating to the history of the region and Texas in general.As the area is so renowned for its butterflies, a visit to the National Butterfly Center should really be on your todo list. Covering around 100 acres, the nature preserve is privately owned and is home to around 340 different species of butterfly. All the butterflies here are wild and are encouraged to stay through the specialized planting. Learn about this at the annual Wild Gardening Festival, which is a four-day event held in April to introduce the benefits of planting particular varieties of plants. In November, the center holds the annual Texas Butterfly Festival, with guided tours and information on the butterflies and their habitat.
