Beaver County was first explored by Native Americans, largely Paiute and Fremont Indians. The city of Beaver, UT, is known for being the birthplace of notorious outlaw, Butch Cassidy. The town was also the first in Utah to have electricity due to a hydroelectric dam on the Beaver River.
