Here, you can tour gun batteries that were used to guard the coast against the days of the Civil War, when the fort was built, up until World War II. There is also a visitor's center that outlines the history of the site.Cape Disappointment State Park is located just south of the campground. Pay no attention to the name of this locale, as it offers plenty of things to do. There are hiking trails and several different lighthouses you can visit. There is also a museum that showcases the history and seafaring culture of the local region. As the park sits at the southern tip of the peninsula, there is a jetty and beach you can explore as well.Deadman's Cove is a scenic area found near the Cape of Disappointment Light. Another scenic area located nearby is the Beards Hollow Scenic Lookout. Beautiful views of the coast and ocean are available from each of these locations. Another natural place near here is the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge. Here there are boardwalks that help you get up-close views of the local waterfowl and animals who frequent the local area. It discusses the historic expedition. You can also tour the North Head Lighthouse, which was built at the ending point of this country-wide trek.Should you enjoy scenic drives, the famous Route 101 (US 101) can be found right in Ilwaco. It runs along the coast in this area, through parts of both Washington and Oregon. The route is a two-lane highway that offers scenic views of the rugged coastline. Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.
How does check-in work?
Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
