When you rent an RV in Sedro-Woolley you’ll find that there are several attractions and recreational activities to take advantage of in the surrounding area. First of all, you can take your vehicle to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, one of the most popular forests in the entire country. The park sits between Mt Rainer National Park and the Canadian border with Ross Lake to the east. Aside from stunning panoramic vistas and remote campgrounds, Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest offers opportunities for hiking and biking, horseback riding, and watersports. The park is open all year and during the cooler season Crystal Mountain, Stevens Pass, and Snoqualmie Summit are excellent launchpads for snow sports. Don’t park your vehicle just yet though because there are a number of scenic roads and byways which connect Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest to other nearby national parks and mountain ranges, including North Cascades Mountains. One of the best routes is the circular Mountain Loop Scenic Byway which connects Darrington to Granite Falls via Barlow Pass and South Fork Stillaguamish River. There are many trailheads for hikers and picnic areas along the way. Alternatively, take your Sedro-Woolley camper rental father east on State Route 20 to North Cascades. Along the way, you can park your RV on the banks of Skagit River for swimming, boating activities, or bird watching. This area is home to one of the largest populations of bald eagles in the USA. Continuing east on State Route 20, you’ll arrive at Ross Lake National Recreation Area which encompasses three reservoirs; Ross Lake, Diablo Lake, and Gorge Lake. All three are ringed by thick woodland and fed by the Skagit River. There is no direct road access to Ross Lake from the south however visitors can launch a kayak or canoe in Diablo Lake and paddle upstream or use the 24-mile Big Beaver Trail and 10-mile Little Beaver Trail to discover the area. There are primitive campsites scattered along the water banks so you can break up your trip.
