The Great Outdoors

If you want to explore some of the stunning landscape that surrounds the RV campground, head to the neighboring Castle Mound Pine Forest. One of the sections of the Black River State Forest, Castle Mound offers unique geologic formations for you to explore. The rocky outcrops rise up nearly 200 feet, giving you a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. Due to the dramatic rock structures, the Castle Mound section is also home to several microclimates. These small sections of immense biodiversity showcase much of the region’s natural habitats in one convenient location.Those who want to explore some of the wetlands of the Great Lakes region should head to Deer Island State Natural Area in Pittsville. These remote bogs and fens create a landscape unlike anything else you’ll see. The unique soil composition of the region hosts a variety of plant species that you won’t find in many of the surrounding ecosystems. Bring a pair of shoes that can get muddy and travel through this unique landscape. This is also a wonderful spot for bird watching, as the sheltered environment provides plenty of safe nesting grounds for local and visiting birds.Spend time enjoying the beauty of a meandering river with a visit to Black River Savanna State Natural Area near Melrose. With several easy access points to the Black River, as well as several oxbow lakes within the park, anglers are welcome to cast a line. You can find a cozy spot and enjoy the day spent outside, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Or instead, you can opt for a hike along the river and see where the current takes you.

Explore the Area

Those traveling with children might want to spend some time at Lunda Community Park. This local park, located within Black River Falls, is a great place to play the day away. You can play a game of basketball or soccer with your family, let the kids run around on the playground, or enjoy a stroll around the human-made lake. In the summer, the park also hosts a variety of concerts and performances in the evenings.Another great place to spend the day with the family is the Hoffman Aquatic Center. Open throughout the summer, this local hot spot has plenty of fun opportunities for everyone. Enjoy the heated swimming pool, the water slides, the sandy play area, and volleyball courts. And when it’s time for lunch, you can enjoy the on-site snack bar.When you rent an RV in Jackson County, you'll be near some unique roadside attractions. A couple of miles east of Castle Mound Campground, you can see The Big Orange Moose and the Giant Cheese Mouse. These quirky and fun roadside statues are a great stopping point for some fun and memorable pictures.Learn about one of the region's largest industries with a visit to the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center in Warrens. Nearly half of the country's cranberries come from the Warrens area, and this museum details the ins and outs of the growing, harvesting, and history of this tart fruit. Tour the museum and complete your visit with a stop by the gift shop to pick up some cranberry-related goods.The city of Black River Falls has a variety of restaurants, with cuisines including American, Chinese, and Mexican. Pizza and pasta are also popular here, and there are several fast-food venues, too. When it comes time to restock and refuel the motorhome rental, you'll find a few gas stations and grocery stores in and around the city.

How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
