The Great Outdoors

Necedah campers will have a variety of great nearby parks to explore. Buckhorn State Park is one of the best and features prairies, wetlands, and forests along Castle Rock Lake. There are several short trails in the park, including a one-and-a-half-mile interpretive trail that features an observation tower that affords panoramic views of the park and lake. Pets are welcome on trails as long as they are on a leash, so feel free to bring along your pup for a much-needed walk. If you're looking to partake in some watersports, there's a 300-foot-long stretch of lake designated for swimming. Boating, kayaking, and canoeing are also popular, and there are five boat launches for easy access to the water. If you're looking to fish, there's a 90-foot-long fishing pier near a picnic area that has a great reputation with anglers.Another intriguing state park worth visiting in central Wisconsin is the Roche-A-Cri State Park. This park consists of dense forests surrounding a 300-foot-high rocky mound, which features petrographs and pictographs drawn by native people dating as far back as the mid-1800s. Visitors can explore five miles of trails in the park, which lead through the forest and up to the Roche-A-Cri Mound. If you're looking for other activities, fishing is possible at Carter Creek and catches include panfish and trout. There are also three picnic areas where you can enjoy lunch near the mound.If you're looking for an adventurous hike during your RV rental vacation near Necedah, consider stopping at Wildcat Mountain State Park. This park features roughly 20 miles of trails that lead up steep cliffs that overlook the Kickapoo River. This section of the Kickapoo River is ideal for watersports, and people often enjoy paddling in a canoe or kayak downstream. Fishing is also excellent along the Kickapoo River, and there are over 40 species of fish inhabiting the river, of which brown trout is the most common catch.

Exploring the City

There are several cities worth visiting that are within driving distance of Moonlite Trails Campground. Madison is Wisconsin's capital and features some exciting family-friendly adventures. Henry Vilas Zoo is one of the most popular attractions in Madison and features over 600 different animals spanning over 100 species. Some of the rarest animals inhabiting the zoo include white rhinos, red pandas, and white-handed gibbons.When you visit Madison with your Necedah campervan rental, you'll want to see some of the capital's great museums. The Chazen Museum of Art is one of the best art museums in Wisconsin and features over 20,000 pieces of art from various disciplines in its permanent collection. Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
