The city of Oshkosh, Wisconsin inhabits a small stretch of land along the western shores of Lake Winnebago. The town is named for Chief Oshkosh of the Menominee Tribe. Oshkosh is lovingly referred to as the Sawdust City due to its history of being a lumber harvesting and processing industrial powerhouse for much of its existence., Oshkosh is nestled between two large lakes, Lake Butte des Morts and Lake Winnebago. This unbelievable building was built in 1883 and has since gone through two major renovations to preserve its beauty. The opera house is found on the National Register of Historic Places and still serves as a lovely venue with an intimate atmosphere, fabulous acoustics, and awesome views.
