Much like the wind rolling off of Lake Winnebago, finding a place to camp near Oshkosh is a breeze. Hickory Oaks Campground is right in town and has dozens of private camping spots, rental cabins, along with fishing and swimming areas along the lake’s sandy beaches.

City Attractions

Oshkosh is perhaps the perfect size for a city, small enough to retain its charm and large enough to have a variety of attractions and points of interest. The streets of the downtown area are lined with historic buildings, along with fine dining establishments, boutiques, art galleries, farmers markets, and breweries. You can learn a thing or two in one of its many museums, like the EAA Aviation Museum. There are over 200 historic airplanes at this incredible institution, and you can even take rides on some of them with trained pilots. There are exhibits concerning WWI and WWII with regards to aviation, and children-friendly entertainment areas.
