The Great Outdoors
Amazing state parks and forests surround Live Oak, and one of the closest is the Woods Ferry Conservation Area. Covering over 1,000 acres of woodland, Woods Ferry makes for the perfect hiking area, with the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail dissecting the park. Along the trail, hikers will find a canoe launch and plenty of opportunities for fishing and nature watching. The trail featured is quite broad, and this makes it perfect for biking or even horseback riding.
RV Parks
When you rent an RV in Live Oak, you won't find many places to camp within the city due to its size. However, in neighboring Madison is the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park. This campground contains over 170 gravel campsites, most of which have full hookups that support max amp electricity. Some of the sites are pull-through, and there's space for slide-out campers. This well-equipped campground offers plenty of activities, including a swimming pool and a rec hall, and there are lots of amenities on site, from restrooms to a snack bar.
Exploring the City

Neighboring cities also offer restaurants and shops, with Lake City, Madison, and Jasper around 30 miles away. One of the best places to go when you rent a camper in Live Oak is the Dudley Farm Historic State Park near Newberry. This historic site/museum is home to a re-creation of what life was like at the turn of the 20th century, complete with original structures, farmhouses, and gardens from the time. Volunteers dress in period clothing and perform activities such as blacksmithing and farming to make you feel like you're stepping back in time. This living museum is the perfect way to experience what life was like for Floridians and is an enchanting family activity.
