Amy Powers is first and foremost a mom to five boys. Beyond that, she’s also a hairstylist, a people person, and an RV rental business co-owner.
“[Meeting people] is my favorite part,” Powers says about the fun adventure that is her RV rental business on Outdoorsy. “I love meeting all of the families that come to get our campers.”

Of course, meeting new friends is just one of the many benefits she and her husband Tommy enjoy thanks to her rental business. Another big benefit? The extra income!
“[We’ve made] $15,000 [since] starting [on Outdoorsy] in April of 2018,” Amy says.
Since starting their business, the couple has grown their fleet to a total of four RVs, and they use their rigs for personal pleasure as well as business.
“We love taking our five boys out,” Amy explains when asked why she got into RVing in the first place. “It’s so inexpensive to go on multiple trips a year in the RV.”
What keeps ‘em coming
Clearly, Amy’s clients appreciate the benefits of RVing as well, and Amy thinks she knows why people keep coming back for more.
“We have a $0 security deposit which I think really helps families that want to rent but [don’t want to] tie up money for two weeks,” she shares. “[We also have a wide selection of lightweight [RV] options. I know that’s what keeps us booked up.”
The future
With so much success on the platform, you’ve probably already come to the conclusion that Amy and Tommy are fans of Outdoorsy—and they can’t wait to see what the future holds for the company.
“I think it’s a platform that’s being molded into perfection and constantly evolving to make sure we, as owners, feel safe,” Amy says of Outdoorsy.
