Adventure Landing

Adventure Landing in Florida is calling your name. Are you ready for an RV road trip with your family? Rides, entertainment, and activities await!

Event information

Adventure Landing is a collection of amusement parks throughout Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and New York. However, for anyone on an RV road trip to Florida, there’s even more reason to check out this exciting amusement park. Why? Because there are three in Florida alone.

Any family traveling around Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach (flagship location), and St. Augustine will find themselves within proximity to Adventure Landing. Visit one or visit all and enjoy pay-as-you-play entertainment with no admission fee.

Jacksonville is a short 20-mile drive from Jacksonville Beach, while St. Augustine is within a 50-mile drive east, on the way to the Matanzas State Forest. No matter which Adventure Landing amusement park you decide to visit, you’ll be pleased you went.

They are open year-round and offer an abundance of fun things to do and experience. Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach even has a seasonal water park called Shipwreck Island for the water lover in your travel group.

Practice your putt with a round of mini-golf, hit the gift shops for a head start on Christmas shopping, or have a go on the karts and show your family who’s boss.

After a full day or two of fun at Adventure Landing, road-trippers can then check out what else these cities in Duval County and St. Johns County have to offer. Book an RV rental in Florida and get your adventure underway.

Transportation

Driving

Florida has a lot to offer the average RV-goer. From its easy-driving highways and interstates like I-95 and US-1 to the many state parks in Florida to stop off at along the way, what’s not to love? Visitors to the area can even time their trips with some of the best events in the state, such as the Florida National Motocross and Florida State Fair.

However, given how much of a tourist hotspot the Sunshine State is, it’s worth considering a traffic aid for assistance along the way. FL511, for example, can alert travelers to any congestion they may face while trying to get to Adventure Landing in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, or St. Augustine.

Parking areas

Parking space availability can differ from one Adventure Landing venue to the next. Campervans and tow vehicles may find they have more freedom to park directly outside or adjacent to the amusement parks.

However, RVs may find it easier to park onsite at St. Augustine, but not at Jacksonville or Jacksonville Beach. In the event of limited or restricted parking, consider the use of the area’s wonderful public transportation network.

Public Transportation

Taxis and rideshare services are in operation for all three Florida Adventure Landing amusement parks. However, visitors to Jacksonville’s Adventure Landing theme park may like to make use of the public bus that has pick-up and drop-off points via the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.

Anyone who has purchased tickets to Adventure Landing St. Augustine may even discover the convenient RV campground within three miles for quick and easy access by bike or on foot.

Where to stay

Onsite

While onsite camping is unlikely to be an option for any road-tripper to Adventure Landing, there is no shortage of top RV parks & campgrounds in Florida to tick all the boxes for travelers. Decide what time of the year you’d like to visit, then book a Florida RV campground that’s proximate to your Adventure Landing facility of choice.

Nearby

It might be surprising to learn just how many Florida campgrounds are close to all three Adventure Landing sites. Cary State Forest offers primitive RV camping opportunities for those who fancy being proximate to Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach.

Cooksey’s RV Park, on the other hand, is under three miles from Adventure Landing in St. Augustine. Never be too far from fun things to do in the area, with several Florida RV campgrounds to deliver on comfort and convenience.

Getting around

Getting around Adventure Landing, once you arrive at the location of your choosing, is generally easy. Everything from go-karts to mini-golf is available along well-marked pathways. Access is even easy on foot while visiting Shipwreck Island from Jacksonville Beach, too. RV travelers can save their bikes and skateboards for other fun Florida activities, like Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine.

What to pack

Clothing

The expected weather conditions may dictate what you wear and pack for a trip to Florida. For those visiting Shipwreck Island, alongside Adventure Landing at Jacksonville Beach, swimwear is required. Otherwise, casual clothing that suits the sunshine can see you as comfortable as possible.

Fancy visiting some of the best state parks and forests in Florida, like Jennings State Forest? Then consider packing a few outdoor-appropriate garments that will keep you comfortable, temperature-regulated, and safe from the sun.

Gear

Trying to ride go-karts, play laser tag, and have a go at a round of mini-golf is a bit tricky when you’re holding shopping bags. The less you bring with you from your motorhome, the more comfortable you can be while partaking in activities at Adventure Landing.

Lockers are available for rent at Jacksonville Beach but have not been at Jacksonville or St. Augustine. Visitors may bring in a water bottle and their wallet with payment cards and cash, but no outside food.

Health & Safety

Health and safety should be any traveler's top priority as they navigate their way around Florida. Always wear sunscreen in the Sunshine State, and don’t forget bug spray for those outings into Osceola National Forest and similar. It also pays to drink plenty of water and carry a first-aid kit on your travels.

Where to eat

Cooking

Travelers who book an RV rental in Florida may find it has all the equipment they need to cook up a storm. However, some Florida campgrounds also provide even more opportunities to flex those culinary muscles.

Ask your camp host about campfires and any communal kitchens you can share. There is also a grocery store proximate to each of the three Adventure Landing sites in Florida.

Restaurants

Visitors to any three of the amusement parks will not go hungry before or after exploring Adventure Landing. From divine seafood restaurants to quick and easy takeout joints, you’re spoiled for choice. The hardest part about dining in Florida will be deciding which place to visit. Broaden your sights to within ten miles of Jacksonville and St. Augustine to see the best of what the area has to offer.

Vendors

What you grab for a bite to eat can depend on the Adventure Landing premises you visit. However, there is no shortage of pizza, nachos, burgers, snacks, drinks, and sweet treats to pique your curiosity. Combo deals are also available. Bring cash or payment cards to secure your food and beverage of choice.

Safety

Security

Security screening protocols tend to remain the same across all three Adventure Landing amusement parks in Florida. Bags may be checked at the gate, and all visitors are encouraged to leave unnecessary possessions tucked away in their motorhomes and vehicles. Anything damaging, dangerous, or distracting must also be kept away from Adventure Landing.

Anyone who requires assistance may approach a staff member for help. However, outside of Adventure Landing, help is available from Florida or St. Augustine police.

Weather

Warm, sunny days and Florida go hand in hand. However, coastal areas tend to have warmer temperatures in winter and cooler ones in summer in comparison to many inland locations. Before setting off to Adventure Landing or other fun attractions like the Florida Renaissance Festival, consider checking the local weather service. Weather may dictate some of your travel agenda in Florida, but plenty of sunshine is generally expected.

Medical

First-aid assistance is available at Adventure Landing in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, and St. Augustine. All a visitor needs to do is approach a staff member for help. Cuts, scrapes, and more can all be taken care of by the kind and caring team.

For any adventurers who find themselves in a spot of bother outside of Adventure Landing, there are medical centers and hospitals within 15 miles of each amusement park. Carrying a first-aid kit onboard can also prove convenient, but always dial 911 in an emergency.
