Bear Creek Lake
RV Guide

Introduction

Known as a hidden paradise by locals, Bear Creek Lake is a fantastic camping destination for RV lovers looking for some lakeside fun. Located only 20 miles away from the Denver City Center, Bear Creek Lake is one of the three major lakes located within the Bear Creek Lake Regional Park (which is operated and maintained by the city of Lakewood).

The lake was originally built for flood control, but over the years it has transformed into a beautiful oasis that is very popular with locals and those who are traveling through the area. The lake is a hub of activity during the summer and you will find many enjoying the sun by swimming, boating or fishing. Along with the lake there are also 2,600 acres of open space that you can explore thanks to the nine different trails. If you would like to learn more about the history of the lake and the area we recommend that you check out the Visitor Center. Here you will find some interesting displays and also be able to partake in Naturalist Programs that are held by staff of the lake.

RV travelers will also be pleased to note that there is a campground at the lake available for you to call home during your stay. The campground is one of the closest to the Denver metro area and features 47 campsites that have electrical hookups. If you are looking to rent an RV there are many available in and around Denver. Be sure to check out the The Ultimate Resource Guide for RVers and enjoy your stay. Peak season at Bear Creek Lake is from April until October.

There are multiple entry and exit points that will take you to and from the park and there are also two major roads located above (Morrison Road) and below (US Highway 285). The most common ways that RV travelers take are either via Kumpfmiller Drive off Morrison Road or W Hampton Drive off US Highway 285.
