Introduction

Surrounded by mountains and beautiful landscapes, Dry Gulch Provincial Park is a quiet place to relax and enjoy RV vacations. The park sits at the base of Redstreak Mountain and is bordered to the west by the Rocky Mountain Trench. The Stanford Range peaks are also within the area.

Located about 5 km (3 miles) south of Radium Hot Springs town, along Kootenay Highway 95, British Columbia, this small provincial park is both a hub of recreational activities and a base camp for enjoying other recreational pursuits in the nearby areas. RV campers at the park can enjoy activities such as cycling on the park’s roadways, flora observation, wildlife and bird viewing, photography, picnicking, and pet walking. Just nearby, golfing opportunities are available, as well as a refreshing visit to Radium Hot Springs.

There are 27 RV campsites at Dry Gulch Provincial Park set within a peaceful scenery and available on first-come first-served basis and by reservations. Fire rings, picnic tables, wheelchair accessible areas, pit/vault toilets, pay station, and Information Center are available in the park.

Driving

Dry Gulch Provincial Park is located about 5 km (3 miles) south of Radium Hot Springs town, along Kootenay Highway 95, British Columbia. The park is a simple drive-in park that is easily accessible by RVs, trailers, and other motorized vehicles. The park has a local paved road which offers easy accessibility to the campground loops, making navigation easy for campers in their rigs. There are no driving restrictions within the park.

Parking

There are no designated parking areas in Dry Gulch Provincial Park, however, RV campers have the option of parking their rigs and trailers at their respective campsites in the campground. Overnight parking is available in the park.

Public Transportation

There are no direct public transportation services to Dry Gulch Provincial Park.

Dry Gulch Provincial Campground

Dry Gulch Provincial Campground in Dry Gulch Provincial Park features 27 campsites pet-friendly which are divided into two loops and are available for RVs and tents. There are no electric hookup options for RVs at the campground. RV length limit in the campground is 32 ft (10 m), however RV campers with larger rigs can contact the park ahead to find out if space is available. Eight campsites in the campground have tent pads, while all the sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Other facilities and amenities available in the campground include pit/vault toilets, pay station, and an Information Center.

18 campsites in the campground are available by reservation, while 9 campsites are available on first-come first-served basis only.

Off-Season

Cycling

Although there are no designated biking/cycling trails at Dry Gulch Provincial Park, cycling is still a popular activity at the park. RV campers that enjoy riding and visit the park with their bicycles ride on the roadways in the park and take the chance to fully explore the entire extent of the park. The use of bicycles helmets when riding in the park is mandatory, hence all RV campers are required to comply.

Golfing

Just north of the park is the Radium Golf Course which offers wonderful golfing opportunities for RV campers at Dry Gulch Provincial Park. As a result, RV campers who enjoy playing golf commonly camp at Dry Gulch Provincial Park and proceed to the golf course for their golf pursuits.

Pet Walking

Pets are allowed in Dry Gulch Provincial Park and RV campers commonly enjoy walking along the roads in the park with their pets. Just be sure to keep your dog leashed to avoid an unwelcome encounter with the local wildlife.

In-Season

Flora

Dry Gulch Provincial Park sits within a lightly forested benchland setting offering RV campers nice views of beautiful forests. The open forest/grassland ecosystem in the park, thus, is a habitat for various species. Flora species such as birch, poplars, and maples decorate the park and present scenic views for RV campers.

Wildlife Viewing

Dry Gulch Provincial Park features some wildlife that can be seen in some of the park area. Deer and mountain big horn sheep are commonly seen on the steep slopes of glacial lateral moraines in the park area. Furthermore, birds are commonly seen in nearby areas too.

Hot Springs Visit

Radium Hot Springs is a popular destination for RV campers at Dry Gulch Provincial Park. The hot pool of Radium Hot Springs curves against the surrounding cliffs and offers visitors amazing views and feelings. RV campers can prepare to be wowed by the sight of the springs.
