Introduction
Featuring diverse natural landscapes nestled in the Hart Ranges of the Central Rocky Mountains and Foothills, Monkman Provincial Park is the perfect RV holiday getaway. Located 60 km (37 miles) south of Tumbler Ridge, on Kinuseo Falls Road, this 629 sq. km (243 sq. mile) provincial park features forested valleys, jagged mountain peaks, extensive alpine meadows, clear lakes and thundering waterfalls, creating the perfect setting for RV vacations.
Recreational activities to enjoy at Monkman Provincial Park include wildlife observation, wildflower and fauna viewing, hiking, caving, horseback riding, fishing, bird viewing, cycling, hunting, and photography. The park features RV campsites available on first-come first served basis, wheelchair accessible areas, toilets, water taps, picnic shelter, picnic areas, tent pads, hiking trails, lookout point, Ranger Station, and Information Center.
One of the most spectacular features in Monkman Provincial Park, Kinuseo Falls, stands at 60 m (197 ft) and is slightly taller than Niagara Falls. Kinuseo Falls plunges into a spectacular canyon.
Established in July 1981, the park was named after Alex Monkman, a man that expended a considerable amount of effort trying to build a transportation route from the Peace River farming country down to the Pacific ports.

Driving
Located 60 km (37 miles) south of Tumbler Ridge, on Kinuseo Falls Road, Monkman Provincial Park is easy to access by RVs, trailers, and other motorized vehicles. Local gravel roads in the park connect the campground and other areas of interest. There are no driving restrictions within the park.
Parking
There are three designated parking areas in Monkman Provincial Park, and you’ll find two of these parking areas at the campground. Moreover, RV campers can park their rigs at their respective campsites while on vacation at the park. Overnight parking is also available for RV campers that will be staying overnight at Monkman Provincial Park.
Public Transportation
There are no public transportation services to Monkman Provincial Park.

First-come first-served
Kinuseo Falls Campground
Kinuseo Falls Campground in Monkman Provincial Park features 22 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents. One of the campsites is wheelchair accessible. There are no RV hookups in the campground. RV length limit at the campground is 32 feet (10 m), however RV vacationers with larger rigs can call the park ahead to find out if space is available. Amenities at the campground include toilets, water taps, fire rings, wheelchair accessible areas, tent pads, picnic shelter, access to a trailhead that leads to the parking area, and an Information Center.
All the campsites in the campground are on a first-come, first-served basis only.

Off-Season
Horseback Riding
Horseback riding in Monkman Provincial Park is a popular activity among RV campers. This is so because horses are allowed along the Monkman Trail in the park, as well as the Wilderness Recreation areas. Equestrians are advised to carry feet for their horses while they enjoy riding in the park.
Birding
Monkman Provincial Park is home to various species of birds for bird lovers and RV campers to enjoy at the park. During the warmer seasons in particular, campers enjoy the sight of bird species such as owls, grouse, ptarmigan, geese and loons.
Fishing
Monkman Provincial Park features various rivers and lakes that contain diverse fish species that allow RV campers enjoy angling while on vacation at the park. Some of the fish species in the park include trout, grayling, char, and whitefish. All RV campers who wish to fish in Monkman Provincial Park are required to have an appropriate fishing license.
In-Season
Caving
RV campers are offered the experience of a lifetime at the amazing caves in limestone outcrops in Monkman Provincial Park. Two caves in particular, Corral Cave and Porcupine Cave, are a must-visit for RV campers. The Corral Cave, 20 m (66 ft) deep, contains fascinating features such as smooth and vertical walls, high ceiling, rock-strewn floor, perpetual drips, and stalactites. Porcupine Cave, 10 m (33 ft) long, features fine coral fossils in its ceilings, floors covered with old porcupine droppings, and cave popcorn.
The caves in the park are fragile environments, hence campers are required to treat them with the greatest respect.
Hiking
Monkman Provincial Park offers attractive hiking opportunities for RV campers of all experience levels to enjoy. The park features both easy-to-hike trails, and strenuous trails for experience hikers. Trails in the park lead to viewpoints of Kinuseo Falls, as well as the Murray River, and a beaver pond. The 7 km (4 mile) hike along Monkman Lake Trail to Murray River Crossing, featuring a suspension bridge, is an easy hike for campers. A more engaging hike along the Monkman Lake Trail, which winds through different parts of the park, leads south of the campground and offers amazing views of the park’s splendor as well as the Monkman Cascades, a series of ten breathtaking waterfalls along Monkman Creek.
Flora and Fauna
Monkman Provincial Park features a diverse range of habitats that support a variety of fauna, making the park the perfect destination for wildlife viewing. Wildlife in the park include grizzly bear, black bear, caribou, mountain goats, moose, mountain sheep, deer, fishers, gray wolves, martens, marmots, wolverines, red squirrels, hares.
Mature sub-alpine fir, lodgepole pine and white spruce dominate the lower elevations in the park, while Englemann spruce, sub-alpine fir and white spruce are more common in the higher elevations in the park. Other flora in the park include alpine meadows of heathers, grasses and wildflowers, including arctic lupine, white rhododendron, glacier lily and Indian paintbrush.
