Get the full San Antonio experience by choosing an RV campground with access to all the city has to offer (queso and a visit to the Alamo, anyone?). You can book a site at San Antonio / Alamo KOA that’s just 22 miles from SeaWorld San Antonio and close to many other exciting attractions. In addition to the city’s many RV parks, there are also a number of campgrounds in San Marcos and Austin.

Getting around

SeaWorld San Antonio is a big place—so get ready to get your miles in by walking most of the day. The park also offers accommodations for visitors with disabilities and rents wheelchairs and strollers for a fee. Bicycles, skateboards, and hoverboards are not allowed inside. Always refer to a park map and stay with your group when walking around the park.

What to pack

Clothing

It’s very possible that you’ll get wet at a show or on a ride at SeaWorld San Antonio. With that in mind, pack clothes that dry easily and a swimsuit or two. Shorts and t-shirts will work fine most of the year, and sandals or sneakers are a good idea too. If you plan a winter or late fall trip, bring a few items to shield you from the colder air. The park does not allow shirts with inappropriate messages, so leave any adult-oriented t-shirts at home.

Gear

Pack all of your RV camping gear for the campsite, including camp chairs, flashlights, firewood, cookware, and entertainment items. For SeaWorld, carry a small bag that you can zip or close with essential things, including your phone, wallet, and cash for purchases. Be aware of restricted items at both your campground and the park.

Health & Safety

When visiting sunny San Antonio, don’t get burned by forgetting to pack sunscreen. Bring plenty of it, plus any prescriptions you need, basic toiletries, and non-slip shoes for walking across wet surfaces at SeaWorld San Antonio. If you opt for a campsite in a nearby state park, bring bug spray.

Where to eat

Cooking

Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside SeaWorld San Antonio (the only exceptions to this are one bottle of water per person and one two-ounce single-serve snack per person). Save your cooking for your campground, but be sure to inquire about outdoor cooking rules before stocking up on firewood and fuel. There are several RV supply stores and grocery stores in San Antonio for all of your meal planning needs.

Restaurants

Travelers will encounter plenty of good food in San Antonio. Come hungry and enjoy Tex-Mex fare like tacos, queso, and margaritas. Barbecue fans can stop by some of the city’s popular destinations for brisket and ribs. From fancy steakhouses with dress codes to food trucks where you can grab a sandwich to go, options abound in San Antonio.

Vendors

Add a dining pass to your SeaWorld ticket and enjoy food all day long while visiting the park. Meals tend to be casual here. Think nachos, hot dogs, and soft drinks. In addition to food vendors, you’ll find gift shops with snacks, stuffed animals, t-shirts, and other commemorative items. Most vendors will be equipped to take credit cards, but having cash on hand will help you avoid ATM fees in the event that one doesn’t.

Safety

Security

SeaWorld employs a dedicated security team to ensure that all guests have a safe and positive experience. You may go through a security screening upon entry. Lock your vehicle, and take advantage of lockers inside the main entrance and outside of rides. If you lose something or have a security concern, stop by guest services at the main entrance.

Weather

Weather is warm and humid during SeaWorld San Antonio’s main operating season. Expect temperatures in the 80s and 90s with lots of sunshine and occasional rainstorms. If it rains, rides, shows, and attractions may be closed or postponed. Guests can get a re-admit ticket which can be used at a different date during the season.

Medical

If you’re having a medical emergency at SeaWorld, let a member of staff know right away and they will take steps to get you to the nearest location.
