Introduction

Located near the famous picturesque resort town of Naples and as one of the original five state parks in Maine, Sebago Lake State Park is an RV lovers dream. The history of the park dates back to when Sebago Lake was carved out by ancient rivers and glaciers millions of years ago, making the large 45-acre lake that sits there today. In 1938 the park was first opened by the state and since then it has since grown to be one of Maine's premier RV friendly locations. The park stretches for over 1,400 acres and features several distinct ecosystems, including lakes, bogs, forests, and beaches. It's the perfect spot for a quick day trip, but an even better place to escape for a few days.

Whatever tickles your fancy, it can be found at Sebago Lake State Park, which is why visitors young and old flock to the park year-round.

The camping options at Lake Sebago State Park are vast, including reservable and non-reservable sites and dozens of RV-friendly sites with hookups. It is a great campground for those renting an RV on their first trip all the way through to the expert campers. Keep in mind that pets are allowed on the beaches only from March through October, and pets are not permitted in the campground.

Transportation

Driving

Although Sebago Lake State Park is located in between the two towns of Naples and Casco, it can be accessed using Route 302 from either of them. The roads inside the park are in good condition and get you everywhere you need to go with ease. The paved roads are easy to navigate even with large RVs, but if you're staying for multiple days it is recommended you tow an extra car to make getting in and out of the park smoother.

Make sure to hook up your bike rack to your RV before heading to Sebago Lake State Park because many of the trails allow biking, and it's also the fastest way to explore all of the trails. However, in the winter months, bikes might not be so practical, unless you have a bike with tires that can get traction in snow. If you're going in the winter, it is worth noting that snowmobiling is also allowed on the trails, as long as you have the proper licensing. Depending on how much snow has fallen you may not be able to access the park roads, so we recommend that you call ahead to the park office before beginning your journey.

Parking

Parking is available at multiple points throughout the park, including the boat launch and shelter areas. Parking a regular car is much easier than trying to find the space for an RV, especially during the peak season. That's why renting a campsite is recommended since it provides a home base to set up your rig.
