Introduction
Silent Lake Provincial Park features beautiful, well-equipped campsites within forested settings that offer RV campers refreshing and relaxing camping experiences. Located about 20 km (12.5 miles) southwest of Bancroft, along Highway 28, Ontario, this 16 sq. km (6.2 sq. mile) provincial park features two sandy beaches, a beautiful lookout point that offers scenic views of Silent Lake, more than 19 km (12 miles) of hiking and mountain biking trails, over 40 km (25 miles) of groomed cross-country ski trails, as well as other amazing facilities that combined, make the experience of campers in the park memorable.
The park features two campgrounds with more than 130 RV campsites, about a third of which are equipped with electric RV hookups. Most of the campsites are available by reservation. Facilities and amenities available in Silent Lake Provincial Park include yurt cabins, firewood, telephone, water taps, pit/vault toilets, picnic tables, firepits, garbage disposal station, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, picnic areas, trailer dump stations, canoe and kayak rental facilities, and parking lots.
Activities to enjoy at the park include hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, picnicking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, park discovery program, photography, and many more.

Driving
Silent Lake Provincial Park is located about 20 km (12.5 miles) southwest of Bancroft along Highway 28, Ontario, and is a simple drive-in park that is easy to access for RVs and trailers, as well as other motorized vehicles. Within the park, there are local paved roads that connect the campgrounds and sites of interest, making it easy for RV campers to navigate to places of choice. There are no driving restrictions within Silent Lake Provincial Park.
Parking
There are various parking options for RV campers at Silent Lake Provincial Park, since the park has ten parking areas distributed around the campgrounds and other sites of interest. Four parking areas are located around Granite Ridge Campground, while one parking lot is close to Pincer Bay Campground. Other parking lots are around the beach and docks.
Public Transportation
Rail Services (GO Transit and VIA Rail) and Bus Services (Greyhound Canada and GO Transit) are available from Toronto to Silent Lake.

Granite Ridge Campground
Granite Ridge Campground in Silent Lake Provincial Park features 75 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents, as well as four yurt cabins. 40 campsites in the campground are equipped with electric hookups for RVs. RV length limit in the campground is 32 ft (10 m). Amenities available in the campground include water taps, pit/vault toilets, garbage disposal station, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, tailhead access, and accessibility to parking lots.
61 campsites in the campground are reservable, while 13 campsites are available on first-come first-served basis only.
Pincer Bay Campground
Pincer Bay Campground in Silent Lake Provincial Park features 62 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents, as well as three yurt cabins. There are no RV hookup options in the campground. RV length limit at the campground is 25 ft (8 m). Amenities available at the campground include water taps, pit/vault toilets, garbage disposal station, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, and accessibility to parking lot.
50 campsites in the campground are available for reservation, while 12 campsites in the campground are available on first-come first-served basis only.

In-Season
Hiking
Silent Lake Provincial Park’s hiking trails are suited for all kinds of hikers, whether casual strollers, explorers, or experienced hikers. The three hiking trails in the park consist of beautiful natural features and ecological elements.
The 1.5 km (0.9 mile) Lakehead Loop Trail is ideal for RV campers who want to take a leisurely walk and stretch their legs, and takes hikers along the lakeshore through Black Ash and cedar vegetation, up to strands of Sugar Maple, hemlock, and Red Oak. Bonnie’s Pond Trail, a 3 km (1.8 mile) trail is ideal for explorers and nature lovers as it winds through pine and hemlock forests, mature beech trees and a large beaver pond. Experienced hikers will love the moderate to difficult 15 km (9 mile) Lakeshore Hiking Trail.
Canoeing
Canoes and kayaks are highly welcome on the quiet Silent Lake and RV campers very well love to paddle on the 2.5 km (1.6 mile) long lake. Gas and electric motors are not allowed on the lake. It is possible to access the adjoining Quiet Lake and Soft Lake through a portage in the park. Even more, canoe and kayak rentals are available in the park for RV campers without their own canoes/kayaks. There is a canoe launching dock at the park.
Biking
Silent Lake Provincial Park features a mountain bike trail that can be accessed from the parking lot at the day-use area. The mountain bike trail features two loops; one 11 km (7 mile) long and moderately difficult loop, and another 17 km (10.6 mile) long and quite difficult loop. As result, average to highly skilled bikers do not miss out on biking on both trails in the park.
Off-Season
Fishing
Fishing and angling opportunities abound at Silent Provincial Park, as the park features several fish species available for RV campers to catch. Fish species in Silent Lake include lake trout, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and sunfish. All campers who wish to fish in the park are required to possess a valid Outdoors card and fishing license.
Swimming
There are two sandy beaches in Silent Provincial Park available for RV campers to enjoy swimming. The larger beach features a large grassy area where picnics can be enjoyed, and is located at the day-use area in the park. The smaller beach sits at the southeastern end of the park by Pincer Bay Campground.
Winter Activities
Winter is a wonderful time to visit Silent Lake Provincial Park as activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing are available during the period. The cross-country ski trails are more than 40 km (25 miles) in length and wind through vegetation such as cedar swamps, hardwoods, groves of White Birch and beech stands. Gas–powered ice augers are not permitted for ice fishing in the park.
