Introduction

Sitting on the southern shore of Tudyah Lake in a wide, open section of the Rocky Mountain Trench, Tudyah Lake Provincial Park is a great place to relax and enjoy RV holidays. Located 9 km (5.6 miles) north of McLeod Lake, along Highway 97, British Columbia, this small provincial park offers a lakeside holiday setting for RV campers to enjoy recreational activities such as wildlife viewing, fishing, flora observation, canoeing and kayaking, swimming, pet walking, hiking, waterskiing, ice fishing, picnicking, and photography.

Tudyah Lake Provincial Park features 36 RV campsites in an open grassed meadow setting, all available on first-come first-served basis only. Amenities and facilities available in the park include pit/flush toilets, picnic tables and picnic areas, water spigots, firewood, boat launch, wheelchair accessible areas, and parking lots.

No known archaeological sites exist within Tudyah Lake Provincial Park; however, it is posited that the area was used by the Sekani Indians for hunting and fishing in earlier times and the waterways were probably used as travel and trade routes.

Established in 1981, the park was the site of Melville Lodge that operated in the 1960s.

Driving

Tudyah Provincial Park is located 9 km (5.6 miles) north of McLeod Lake, along Highway 97, so the park is a simple drive-in park that is easy to locate and access by RVs, trailers, and other motorized vehicles. The access roads within the park are graveled. There are no driving restrictions within the park.

Parking

Parking areas are available around the day use area, boat launch area, and the campground in Tudyah Provincial Park. RV campers can park their rigs at their respective campsites in the park. Moreover, overnight parking is available at Tudyah Lake Provincial Park.

Public Transportation

There are no direct publication transportation services to Tudyah Lake Provincial Park.

First-come first-served

Tudyah Lake Campground

Tudyah Lake Campground in Tudyah Lake Provincial Park features 36 pet-friendly campsites available for RVs and tents. There are no RV hookup options available in the campground. RV length limit at the campground is 32 ft (10 m), however, RV campers who have larger rigs can call ahead to find out if space is available. Amenities in the campground include water, firepit, picnic tables, firewood, and restrooms.

All the campsites are available on first-come first-served basis only.

In-Season

Wildlife Viewing

Along the Pack River in Tudyah Lake Provincial Park, the natural setting is home to wildlife such as moose, beaver, waterfowl, muskrat, and otter, all of which are commonly seen by RV campers enjoying their vacation at the park. Other wildlife that RV campers often seen in the park include black bear, deer, wolves, foxes, and coyotes. Upland birds are often seen in the park too.

Fishing

Good fishing opportunities are available for lovers of angling and fishing at Tudyah Lake Provincial Park. The boat launch in the park provides access to the Tudyah Lake for RV campers to catch fish species such as rainbow trout and dolly varden which are abundant in the lake. The nearby Parsnip River is also a good place to fish. An appropriate fishing license is required for fishing and angling in the park.

Flora

Various habitats are present in Tudyah Lake Provincial Park which support the development of resplendent flora across the park. The natural vegetation is characteristic of the Sub-boreal Spruce Zone. The forest cover in the park features spruce, birch, and pine. Wetland vegetation, shrubs, willow, alder, as well as open grassy areas are also present in the park.

Canoeing/Kayaking

Canoeing and kayaking opportunities abound on Tudyah Lake at Tudyah Lake Provincial Park. Although canoe and kayak rentals are not available in the park, a boat launch is available for RV campers to set out on their paddling adventures on the lake. Take some time to explore the lake and see the park from a whole new perspective.

Swimming

RV campers can enjoy swimming at Tudyah Lake Provincial Park. There's no better way to cool off from the summer heat than to immerse yourself in the clear, cool waters of the lake. No lifeguards are on duty at the beach in the park, so all RV campers and visitors are required to engage in safe swimming practices in the park.

Waterskiing/Ice Fishing

The boat launch in the park grants access to the lake for water-skiing enthusiasts to enjoy waterskiing in Tudyah Lake Provincial Park. Once the weather begins to turn cold, ice fishing opportunities are also available in the park.
