Surrounded by the beautiful Sleepy Hollow State Park, Sleepy Hollow Campground is a lush campground just north of Lansing, the state capital of Michigan. This state-run RV park in the woods is found in the center of Michigan’s lower peninsula, a two hours’ drive from Detroit, and a host of amazing natural areas in the north like Huron National Forest and Manistee National Forest. Sleepy Hollow Campground’s advantageous location, combined with Michigan’s many state parks, makes it a fantastic place to stay during a Lansing RV camping trip.

You won’t find luxury or upscale offerings in this simple campground, but there are tent camping areas and larger RV-friendly spaces with electric and water hookups available. Each spot comes with a flat area for parking, fire pit, and a picnic table. The park’s layout makes it easy to access restroom and shower facilities, so you never need to go far from your campsite at Sleepy Hollow Campground to use the amenities.

While camping at Sleepy Hollow State Park, there is a lot to keep you occupied within the campground. The camping area hugs Lake Ovid, which accounts for most of the park’s recreational activities. Fishing from its tranquil shores or from the comfort of a canoe, kayak, or boat makes for some great outdoor fun, as does swimming or lounging on the beaches of the lake. There are also playgrounds, pet walking areas, and a network of hiking trails that encircle the lake; don’t hesitate to book a spot at this popular nature park north of Lansing for your next camper rental vacation.
