RV rental Tawas Point State Park, MI: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

Beaches are a major draw at Tawas Point State Park, with more than two miles of sandy shoreline to enjoy. The sheltered campground beach at Tawas Bay is always popular, luring sunseekers with warm, shallow water. On the Lake Huron side of the spit, the day-use beach features soft sand and a designated swim area. When you've had your fill of sun and sand, stretch your legs and learn about the unique freshwater ecosystem on the Tawas Point-Sandy Hook Nature Trail. The mile-and-a-half-long loop meanders along grassy sand dunes and wooden boardwalks, with interpretive plaques to read along the way. Keep an eye out for the park's famous monarch butterflies. Perched on a grassy knoll, Tawas Point Lighthouse is one of the best-preserved Victorian lighthouses on the Great Lakes. It's been guiding ships to safety since 1876 and is a bucket list destination for maritime enthusiasts. It also offers a stunning vantage point for Lake Huron sunrises and Tawas Bay sunsets. Its location on the Lake Huron Flyway makes Tawas Point a premier destination for birders. Avian enthusiasts flock to spot more than 300 species, including rare red knot, piping plover, whimbrel, and ruddy turnstone. Thanks to the construction of an artificial limestone reef, anglers covet Tawas Point State Park as one of the best fishing destinations in Northern Michigan. Cast a line and you could reel in perch, walleye, northern pike, brown trout, bass, coho, and chinook salmon. Cooking up your own catch of the day is one of the best RV camping experiences out there.
